A friend is looking to join PC, but also needs a device with portability for school work etc. His price range is £700 if there anything for that price that could run Overwatch, CS and maybe PUBG? (Mainly OW)

My personal choice for laptops is MSI. Their cooling is better than the rest.

Nah, not all MSI models have good cooling. GL series is one of the fail example.

Seems to be better than other 1050 models. I did hear they had issues with cooling a few years ago though. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

EDIT: And I know that these laptops have different specs. The only one with similar specs is a 17.3" Asus so that's not a good comparison either. My point with this is that these are temps that are okay to leave your hands on while you work or game. It's not something hot enough to be unpleasant to keep your hands on. And MSI includes a nice button to ramp your fans to the max if you decide to.

I'm talking about inner temps (CPU and GPU). Yes surface temps also matter but inner temps are more important IMO because it can affect performance.

Not to mention that GL and GP series has mediocre build quality, I tried them before and they are very flimsy. Also the infamous bloatwares and shockingly short battery life. Some countries like Malaysia ship GL and GP series with bad TN panels.

Who wants to ramp the fans up if the cooling solution is good enough

The Inspiron 7559 and newer 5577 (same chassis) have better cooling than a fair majority of equally equipped MSI models. That and they're pretty cheap on Dell Outlet, plus you can usually find some easy coupon to save fifty or a hundred off the purchase.
