Need Opinions On First Build Please

Hello, I have spend the past few months researching and have come up with this build. My criteria for the build was/is 1, to be able to play games like Overwatch on a 1440p monitor @144hz on ultra to medium settings. 2, (don't laugh at me) to be able to play Minecraft on that same monitor with intense shaders. 3, to stay around $1250-$1500 dollars. And 4, to look nice and have a decent amount of rainbow unicorn barf (RGB) on/in it. Any suggestions about modifying this build would be greatly appreciated! Also, I know I picked the worst time to build a computer with RAM and graphics card prices skyrocketing.

Yeah you should be great, but if you buy at these (sadly reasonable) prices, you won't be losing much money. EDIT: get this cooler instead, better imo, (be quiet dark rock 3) https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YwGkcf/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk018 or a cooler master masterliquid 240 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/z9Z2FT/cooler-master-masterliquid-240-667-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-mlx-d24m-a20pw-r1

Try using the PSU Tier List!

Made a few tweaks.

Tried to go with a motherboard that was less orange but if that's the color you want then swap it back for the board in your original build.

Changed the cooler, the H7 is decent but I think the Dark Rock cooler will give you better temps

Swapped out the memory to go for a more color neutral approach and shave a bit off

Tossed in a 2TH HDD but if you already have something for mass storage then you can leave that off

Swapped the SSD for something just as good but to give you a little more storage for the price.

Overall, very solid build though and the tweaks mostly come down to slightly higher price/performance or just personal preference :)

Do you think I need the extra cooling of the be quiet dark rock 3 to overclock the 8700k to 5ghz?

No but it will produce better thermals, the water cooled one is similarly priced and has about the same performance, it's just if you prefer air v water

Thanks for the help! About the orange mobo I thought that it had RGB and in the photos it looks almost all of the orange is from the RGB LEDs. Also, I forgot to note that the Ultra Gaming mobo was $40 off plus it game with a PCI-E expansion card with bluetooth 4.1 and fast wifi. Also, the mx300 is only 25gb bigger for large performance cuts so I think I'll stick with the 850 evo. For ram I agree that the Geil looks like trash but at the time it was $10 cheaper but now there is some Team Dark DDR4 3000 for 169.99 which is cheaper by tiny bit and IMO looks nicer. Thanks again!

You could save a couple of bucks on the ram. 3000 mhz don't make that much difference in gaming, unlike Ryzen platforms.
