Audio No Longer Working After BIOS Update

Ronin64

Hi, I updated my PCs bios for the Meltdown & Specter bugs and now my computer has no audio. The front and rear audio jacks no longer work and Windows doesn't see any audio device in device manager, except my USB headset. So I downloaded my audio driver and still nothing. I then thought about using my monitor's built-in speakers over HDMI, but they also aren't working. I was thinking my onboard audio is dead, but shouldn't audio still play over HDMI or does the speaker in my display use the onboard audio as well?

Check and see if you can rollback the BIOS update, or if they have applied any patches. Without more information on the system I can't do much, other people might be having the same issue as you and if that's the case the company would work quickly towards a solution.
