Did it give a reason to why it won't let you enable PhysX?

No it is just unchangeable.

If that is the case then I'd say the game isn't compatible with it, I've heard that only a few game actually use it

If the game was incompatible with it, why would there even be a PhysX option in the menu?

Go to: Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config\WillowEngine.ini and find PhysXLevel in the file and replace that with PhysXLevel=2.

I have no idea but if the game is able to run it, why say unchangable?

It's Planetside 2, not Borderlands 2, silly.

I assume that the checkbox was unchecked, but when OP tried to click on it, it wouldn't change to a checked version.

Go to UserOptions.ini in the game directory and change GPUPhysics=1 as well as OverallQuality=-1

Also, with an update, they've disabled most of the Physx; you should still see a little improvement

lol seemed similar. I just saw the 2 and it had the same character count and thought it was Borderlands 2. Did you install your Physx drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.0725-driver.html
