Upgrading Gaming and (very amateur mining) rig with two 1050ti, will it work?

Zahiid

Hey, so back home (at my parents now), I have a medium level rig with i5 7400, 1050ti and a Asus H110M-K (https://www.asus.com/se/Motherboards/H110M-K/) Motherboard.

The thing is, I want to put in two 1050ti (so add another one to my existing one) and I have some questions:

1. Will 2 1050tis be compatible with this because I know its only one compatible PCI-E for ONE gpu so I got a riser for the other small PCI-E

2. Does it matter what brand the 1050tis are, I mean, can one be Asus and the Other one some other and they will still work with eachother?

3. Will the riser work just like if the 1050ti was connected straight to the motherboard? Because there are "mining" motherboards with several 16x PCI inputs but I would rather skip buying another Motherboard when I have a fully functioning new one.

4. I know that I can use 2 or more GPUs for mining but if I want to game every now and then, will I be able to use both GPUs together on one game?

Appreciate any help :)

You can't SLI any card under the 1070. NVIDIA blocked that functionality up to the 1060's.

If you want equivalent performance you'll need AMD cards (any) or higher end NVIDIA ones.

Will it still work mining with both though or Do you just want to answer that question? :)

According to search results it can mine in pairs. I'd look into those if I were you. I don't know anything about mining. :D

You can mine with as many GPUs in whatever configuration you like as long as there are enough PCIe lanes and connectors available. SLI compatibility won't affect mining whatsoever.

Main rig:

• Ryzen 3600X • X370 Killer SLI • 16GB Corsair LPX 3200Mhz • Strix 1070ti • Define R5 • SuperNova 750 G2 • Evo 1TB + X300 4TB •

Secondary rig:

• Acer prebuilt • Rzyen 1700X (upgraded) • OEM 1060 3GB • 256GB SSD + 1TB Seagate (upgraded) •

You can mine with them if the program you use to mine is compatible. Which should be fine with those cards.

Using risers are fine as well. Never use a card that’s on a 1x riser to game.

Couldnt use both of them to game anyway so that won’t be an issue.
