Cpu upgrade help

Hello guys,So my currenty cpu is I3 6098P and i want help.I dont know if i should buy a ryzen+ once they come out or wait Intel's 9th gen proccesors or get an i5 8400 along with a Z370 Mobo.

What do you guys think.Is it worth waiting or i'd beter get an i5 8400 now?(Gaming-Multitasking but not something crazy I want to hear some music while gaming without a problem.My gpu is gtx 1060 3gb)

I7 6700?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

If you are getting a Z motherboard get a processor that overclocks form the K series, with an auto overclocking program you can get a free 10-15% typically. This website (cpu.userbeenchmark) can help show the performance gain between generations of processors. I would wait and see what comes out over the next 6 months but I think Ryzen + stuff could be awesome, just keep watching LTT.
