I recently purchased a GTX 1060 6gb version ( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487261 ) for $274.99 but recently I have noticed these cards and others going out of stock everywhere and prices increase dramatically all over. I am finding this card, and cards like this sell for $350-400 on ebay, amazon, newegg, etc. which is why I was curious, should I sell it? I like the card and enjoy gaming on it, but my old 750ti could easily last me a couple more months and the near $100 in profit wouldn't be bad either? I was mainly asking for advice because I know zero about the gpu market other than the specs for each card, I wanted to know if selling would be stupid and I should just keep my card but also if I were to sell it, do you think I would make a profit?

My general advice to anyone in your shoes would be to package it up, clean it up, get lots of good pictures, then post it on eBay as a 7-day auction with the lowest price you'd even consider selling it for (bearing in mind that you'll lose 15% to fees) as the starting price. If someone buys it, cool. If not, it doesn't cost you a thing.

Another thing to consider: it's unlikely that the GPU market will have shifted dramatically in a couple of months. If it has, it certainly won't be for the better for Pascal cards. Right about now may be your best time to cash in on your 1060, because it crypto takes a dump and/or the 11-series NVIDIA cards are announced, the used market value of your card takes a hit.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Thanks for the advice. I also had the 11 series in mind when thinking about it. If I sold my 1060, I could hopefully make some money off of it that I could use to by a next gen card when they come out.

i agree with aisle9 as he said, if a new gen of cards are coming out i'd reccomend selling it, and using the resale and/or + extra money to get a high/mid tier card of next gen

but if your selling for a lot be careful for that fee they have- i was putting a computer up for sale on their when i didn't realize how high the fee was- selling on letgo/craigslist/locally now

It sure seems like a good time to make a nice profit, and since you have another card you say you'd be fine with using I'd say it's at least looking into what you can sell it for. I'd recommend craigslist or other places where you can post it for sale and see if you can get an acceptable profit on it before trying somewhere like ebay that's gonna cut into your profit with fees

Yeah, I can try stuff like Letgo and Craigslist, unfortunately because I live in a smaller town stuff like computer parts hardly ever sells on those websites so usually I have to use ebay to reach a larger audience. Sounds like I'll try selling the card though, thanks for the advice!
