Hi! In my computer i have an ASUS m5a99x evo r2.0 Motherboard, and an AMD FX-6350

The MOBO have been stuck on POST when starting a couple of times. Neither BIOS or boot loads... Reset does not help. But what helps is a total system power-loss.

I unplug the computer for 10 seconds, and reconnect it. Then is boots fine... This fault have happened two times in about two weeks.

Have anyone heard of this fault before? The motherboard is about two years old, and the CPU is about 5 years old :P

Sorry for sloppy english :/

Thanks :)

I've seen this problem before myself with Old hardware. (between 6 and 10 year old mobo's, 24/7 usage) For me, the BIOS chips would degrade. If it's the same for you, you could try to update/downgrade/change your BIOS version and check if it makes a change. (the most important thing here is to rewrite data to your BIOS)

Another thing you might want to consider to bypass this problem, is putting the pc in sleep mode. That way, it isn't really turned off, and it will skip parts of the BIOS. It's not an cold start. (and also, your load times will most likely improve when starting up this pc) Power draw is minimal during sleep mode, and noise is non exsisting.

my mobo (z270) got stuck on post because I had a pendrive in the frontpanel usb.
