Hello I am looking for a monitor that is 1440p, 27", 144hz, for gaming. I currently have a ASUS that is 31" and 1440p with 60hz IPS and now I am getting the second monitor for gaming. I want to get a monitor for a good price and I see that a monitor that has g sync and IPS together with the other specs I've listed are usually too much. Now I could get a Dell S2716DGR which has the specs I listed at the start plus gsync, or a Acer XF270HU that has same specs accept with IPS panel and no g sync. I am wondering which of the two specs are more important, gsync or IPS panel.

IPS. If you are using an IPS panel monitor and you will buy a TN panel monitor you won't like it. Really the color and brightness is very low in TN panels. G-Sync is a very good think especially in a 144 Hz monitor. Since the G-Sync monitors has 1 ms MPRT (ULMB) and it prevents the tearing. But the color and brightness is far more important in my opinion. Especially if you are using an IPS monitor already. You can use Fast Sync or V-Sync instead of G-Sync. Of course they won't be effective as G-Sync but still they are an altternative.

The high end TN panels are comparable to a mid range IPS in contrast and colour.

source: I own both.

Go with the G-Sync display

That's an F in the profile pic

They are really not. I am using XG2700-4K. I also tested many monitors like Dell S2714DG etc. None of TN panels can race with an IPS panel in colors. If you are using an IPS panel you wont like the TN panel. Go with the IPS. Source: I own both too.
