New harddrive

VeryWetFingers

Hey.

I need some help choosing a new hard drive. It is going to be used for storing game stream. I do not turn off the pc and will have a disk that is quiet when I'm not using it. Anybody have any suggestions? I use only WD drives.

For something in between reliability and speed go for the WD Black. If you want something faster go for the WD Velociraptor. Want something more reliable but slower go for the WD Red drive which will also be quieter than the others. Or just want to save the environment and a bit of money on your electricity bill go for the WD green which is the basic model.

Extreme speed: Velociraptor

Speed: Black

Balance: Blue

Reliability: Red

Slowest, but quiet and cheap: Green.

But why don't you consider Seagate drives?

Velociraptor + ssd cache. I'm rocking that. Where do I fall in that order?
