Externally mount graphics card

My motherboard only has room for one dual slot graphics card and one single slot card,since fan headers get in the way.

is there anyway to externally and safely mount a graphics card externally without any enclosure, still using pcie and 6pin power?

If your motherboard doesn’t have enough pci slots you can’t add more. Do you mean your case doesn’t have enough expansion slots?

I have 2 pcie risers but there is no where in the case to mount the card with access to the ports, can I externally mount it without an enclosure

Wouldn't you run into issues trying to put a gpu and have it run with a 1x pcie slot?

I don't recommend. It runs off of only pcie 1x.

 

Also, what do you mean by the fan headers get in the way of a graphics card. That doesn't really make sense. Maybe some pictures would help?

I'm guessing what he means is that if he installs the gpu, the gpu will cover up the bottom io headers and what not. So with a gpu there, he wouldn't be able to connect front io ports and fan headers.

 

However, according to his text, the bottom slot is a single pcie slot... so it's not made for a gpu to be installed there anyways

 

In other words, he want's to us a pcie 1x to 16x converter to install a second gpu.

So it’s a 2 slot card but right under the second pcie slot are fan connectors so I have to remove them (not doing that because OVERHEATING) to fit the card in

Well I think doing the pcix1 to x16 is not worth it so why not get the Corsair commander pro or NZXT grid v3 or other fan controller

Or get a fan splitter or hub and connect all your fans to the CPu fan header at the too of the board

Asrock H270M Pro4 is the Mobo  and all fanheaders have to be used in order 1 2 3 etc and the one in the way is 1

Okay, I see what you mean now. 

 

1. You're certain that there isn't enough room behind your gpu for the headers?

 

2. You don't have to use the fanheaders in order. You can change all of that in the bios.

Umm, just another note, If you're card is very long, then it will also cover up your front io headers as well. (Unless your card is very short or the io headers are elsewhere.

Yea I know I have a 1060 the one running 4x and can’t get my 1080 in the 16x slot(idk why I have both)
