Help. I need to know what this connector is

I have been digging through the loft and have found a full set of speakers and a sub woofer (ignore spelling) could some one please give me a solution thank you...

The shape of the connectors is not clear but looks to be similar to those battery connectors.

Speakers are sometimes connected using basic wire. Aren't these just caps to protect them or something?

I can't think of any widely-used connectors, that would use such plugs.

 

EDIT: Reading the post above, it could be that these are just standard electrical connectors there.

looks like it might be something proprietary, might be easier to make use of them if you just clipped those off and hooked them to any old receiver that will connect to raw wires...
