Anything Better?

Hello, I am upgrading my pc. I already have a 1060 and all my other parts are up to par except for the ones I am trying to upgrade in the pic. I have a budget of $670. Any recommendations on cheaper things that are just as powerful or even more powerful or did I do perfect on picking out the good cheaper stuff?  Thanks - Dylannew_pc_upgrade.PNG

If you can afford to go for a Z-board why not get an 8700k instead?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

I'm pretty sure even 8600k is better than 7700k and cheaper.

the 7700k is $330 and that is the cheapest one I could find and then cheapest 8600 was $388. If you could find me a cheaper 8600 I would gladly get it.

You were looking at 8700k, not 8600k

I saw that but I assumed since it was an i5 it would be worse. I thought you were talking about an i7 8700k. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I am gonna go look up some benchmarks. Thanks for the recommendations!

It would've been in last 5 years. But 8000 series added +2 cores in "i" series lineup.

Have you considered Ryzen at all? AMD is planning to cut prices by around $30 to $100 for pretty much all of their Ryzen chips, so they're an even more tempting deal when compared to their Intel counterparts.

R5 1600X (6 cores, 8 threads) is around $220 now, and the R7 1700 (8 cores, 16 threads) is around $300. (Down from $250 and $330 respectively)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

yeah most benchmarks I see I would rather go for the i5. Nothing against amd or its costumers I own an FX right now its just I would prefer an intel.
