Seven Fan Setup

Go to solution Solved by flibberdipper,

Well in an ideal world with 7 fans, you'd have 4 filtered intakes and 3 exhausts, with the intakes running a bit slower to offset there being more of them, assuming of course that all the fans are the same (just to try and get as close to almost-neutral-but-slightly-positive case pressure).

Here’s the deal, I’ve just bought a New case for my pc. The case is great, lots of room, it came populated with three intake fans in the front. I plan on putting 4 more 120mm fans along the top and one in the back, but i’m new to high airflow. What would be the best configuration for a 7 fan cooling system? The cpu cooler is currently blowing air out of the case.

Let's make sure 7 fans are even necessary. What CPU and GPU are you running? Is the GPU blower or open-air?

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

it depends on what you plan to cool, if it is radiators and they are on top the best way would be to put the fans on top and rear as exhaust and the fans front and if possible, the bottom as intake.

I know you didn't ask this but, high static pressure fans are better than air flow because they can fun at slower speeds, push the air further but still produce good air flow, then you have the extra ariflow when you bump up the speed for when you use the system at full performance.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

That’s one of the new Cooler Master H cases right? They have kinda crap airflow if it’s that important to you. Gamers Nexus did a review

Looks like a Cougar Panzer. The logo is at the front.

The H500P reviewed by Gamers' Nexus has an acrylic front panel as opposed to mesh which is the cause of the shoddy airflow.
