No more using Clonezilla like a peasant, finally got my WDS dropped down to my office today ! :)

 

Dual Xeon X5667's

Quad gigabit NIC's (multiplexed)

10Gb NIC for when i can squeeze a 10Gb switch out of the bosses for "unbottlenecked" multicast imaging

How much did it cost? I got it's baby brother. the R210 II. :P How loud is it? I'm thinking of getting one for VMs. :)

It's very quiet :)

I've got the R610 and R710 myself and they are surprisingly quiet even under decent load.

 

 

Also, OP, I see that Cisco phone there :P

Just like every other servers, it screams during POST but yeah it is a very quiet machine, and our WDS needs will never push the CPUs past 25-30% 

Debating throwing a GPU in there too for giggles lol, headless servers need like 4 monitors attached right ? :D 
And yeah haha fucking hate cisco anything, i tend to ignore it :)

It was repurposed from another company owned server, no idea how much it cost new. Probably a fair bit, 16 threads of xeons, intel NIC's for days, SAS/SATA array and all that jazz. iPMI too !
