How often you do a fresh install of Windows for whatever reason?

Is it even necessary to do this nowadays because the OS slows down with time?

I heard it isn´t since Windows 7 or something.

Just a general question.

With Windows 7, I used to do it whenever I truly screwed up and figured it would take longer to fix the OS manually than it would to just format.(about once or twice a year)

 

Now with Windows 10, I do it at every big feature update.

Meaning on the Anniversary update, Creator update and now the Fall Creator update, less risk of something breaking during the update, especially considering I do change a lot of Windows settings/registry entry over time.

i only do it if i have to, or if im switching drives

sometimes i do a fresh install of windows 7 just cause im bored or want to update all my drivers and software all at once.

pretty much when changing drives.  ive stuck to the practice of having one hdd/ssd for OS for like the past 12 years. everything else goes into my other hdds.

1- every 6 months when MS releases a new Win10 build.

2- yes, i do it so i have a new clean and stable system devoid of junk/corrupted files, useless/conflicting drivers and most of all, the system is way smaller.

With Win 7 maybe every two years. With Windows 10, it seems like every year or more. Depending on how bad an update fucks shit up.
