Amd FX

Go to solution Solved by Sakkura,

There is no AM3+ CPU that's similar to the Ryzen 3 1200. The AM3+ CPUs all have much lower performance per core. You can pick one with more cores, but that doesn't always compensate for the individual cores being slower.

I'd go for a 4th gen Intel system here like an I5 4690K, or a I7 2600K system,both take DDR3

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Intel's 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen i5s are as close to a Ryzen 3 as you can go without actually buying Ryzen.

As mentioned above, please go Intel route. Let that AM3+ die off already. Dont even get me started on heat/power draw/lack of performance.
