GPU brand

I recently bought a Palit GTX 1050Ti StormX 4GB DDR5 but I could've bought an ASUS, GIGABYTE and MSI one. My question is: does the GPU brand make a difference and if it does is it huge? Will the Palit one produce less FPS than the GIGABYTE one?

No, all of them carry the very same processing chip (GTX 1050 Ti) that is manufactured by nVidia.

 

The difference is in the other components like PCB, Cooler, VRAM, VRM and so on, Palit makes good cards and you'll be fine also at the low level like 1050 Ti there is pretty much no difference what so ever in performance between cards, cooling wise one might be more silent than the other but that is it.

 

Make sure to overclock the GPU properly for extra free performance.

@Princess Cadence does it matter if I overclock it? I read that it reduces the lifespan of a GPU and that it isn't recommended. Should I do it if I plan to game on medium/high at 1280x720?

It does give a few extra FPS but doesn't reduce the lifespan a whole lot though obviously it's only a 1050Ti so don't go mad.

Overclocking a Pascal GPU is as safe as it gets because voltages are locked by default, then again if you feel the performance is sufficient as is you don't have to bother.

Well what card you choose can impact overclocking but for a low end card like a 1050TI that hardly matters
