CPU swop

Hi to all the LTT people I have a question. I have a AMD A8 9600 CPU on a MSI A320M PRO-VD AM4 motherboard but I want to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 5 1600 is it possible to do it or must I get a new motherboard?

You should be able to upgrade with no problem... One thing I would recommend though is if you have slow memory then to upgrade it to a higher speed because Ryzen processors benefit tremendously from that.

My rig has Crucial Gray 8GB DDR4 2400MHz Ram is that good enough or must I get faster Ram.

The A320 chipset doesn't support overclocking, so you're limited to 2600 RAM at best.

Not worth shelling out the extra cash for. When you need to upgrade the memory, go for 16GB rather than slightly faster.

Ok so the 8GB stig ram is good enough?.....And I dont plan on overclocking anything.
