Hello All

I am looking to purchase the NZXT S340 Elite case. Thinking to use 2 noctua 120mm high airflow https://noctua.at/en/nf-s12a-pwm-chromax-black-swap/specification as exhaust and a 280mm aio rad as intake (CM MasterLiquidPro 280 or corsair 280mm). I live in South Africa and gets hot in summer 30+°C. Do you think this will be a good cool system?

Thanks for the input!

Matt

Eh, they both use shitty pumps. Corsair has a better warranty system for sure though.

I would never get an AIO water cooler with a pump made by Asetek (which rules out pretty much any AIO, though I don't know who OEMs the pumps in the CM units), but if these are your only options and an air cooler is out of the question, then I'd get the Corsair for the 5-year warranty alone.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The Asetek AIOs are the most reliable ones.

You can tell because not only are they used in servers but also in the millions of corsair AIOs that have sold, and only a few tens or hundreds have had pump issues.

Asetek makes the "most reliable" pumps because they hold a monopoly on the most basic pump design

https://techreport.com/news/29092/asetek-wins-injunction-against-cooler-master-liquid-coolers

https://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/Asetek-Sends-Cease-and-Desist-Water-Cooled-GPUs

When they're the only ones who can make a pump design of a certain kind, they're the most and least reliable.

Here an Asetek rep talks about failure from the factory, creating the false assumption among many that 0.015 percent of pumps will fail or are likely to fail. This doesn't even mention failure rates within warranty period. I've yet to see an AIO last more than about 5 years (An old H60 where, you guessed it, the pump failed) and that wasn't even made by Asetek. It was made by CoolIT, a company that no longer exists because of Asetek patenting all the things.

You can buy them, but I never advise anybody buy one.

@Enderman and @STRMfrmXMN

Thanks all for the info especially about the pumps

Are there any other AIOs that you can recommend?

I will need to purchase them when I'm back in South Africa so limited to stores. I may be able to get NZXT kraken x62. I use wootware.co.za and evetech.co.za to shop in SA. If you think the air cpu system will benefit more I heard great things about the noctua ones?

Stick with corsair and NZXT.

Upgrading the fans is mostly done for less noise, not really more performance.

As I said, if you were forced to choose then get the Corsair. Their support is great and it comes with a 5 year warranty.
