My boyfriend is a Catholic and therefore celebrates the traditional Catholic Christmas so we go to Mass on Christmas as part of his tradition.

 

Wow I forgot about that, does the church know or have you kept that from them?

I think you may not understand what I am saying. It's not like either one of us belong to a church. we walk in on Christmas and sit on a bench, no one asks whether either one of us are Gay, Catholic, Atheist etc.

Need to come to OZ then , I worked with some catholic nuns a few years back, they were supporting a lesbian couple, a single mum and a gay man, never once did they mention the church, god or Jesus until they were asked and even then they were subtle and non-authoritative, talking only from personal perspective. It was almost like watching how the world would be if idealism wasn't hamstrung by reality.

 

My Christmas tradition changes a little bit every year, I have 4 families to get to and usually only manage three so the days goes for 48 hours for me.

Here we have 3 holy men in December: St. Nicholas (5. 12.), which is the real deal and is the one that brings gifts, then is Santa Claus(24. 12.), which is in my opinion too american and forced, and his clone of the ex communist regime - Grandpa Cold (closest translation) (31. 12.). Gifts are usually given on all three, but the majority on the first one.  

And of course, a skiing trip is a must during the holidays .
