Hey guys. I've been neglecting Skyrim for a while and decided to play it just now. When I was playing the game, I suddenly thought of something... when was the first use of WASD?

the early PC games that I remember playing normally used the arrow keys and the ctrl, space, alt and shift keys. Don't remember any WASD

I think the original Wolfenstien had WASD. Gauntlet on the old 386 or 486 used them as well, Cause you could play 2 players on 1 keyboard and i remember always using them. Thats about 23 years ago off the top of my head.

Wow i just realised how old i am.

Way back in the 80's we had games that used the arrow keys for movement but was only good if your right handed, if you where left handed you would use WASD for movement and still use the Space bar for an action like shooting or jumping.

Wouldn't that be the other way around?

Every topic I post in dies.

I would use the WASD key's instead as it was better for me, but it was not an option the time back then to let you map your on controls.

I use my left hand for the movement and if the game required you to use the spacebar then I would be able to use my thumb for that, it was the arrow keys I would have to use my pinky and depending on the keyboard I could not reach.

Then again using my right hand for things like keyboard or mouse control is not an option for me.  That's why I have things like the Logitech G13 game board or use controllers like the Xbox 360 for PC so I can play games otherwise I would not have a PC for gaming but still be playing on my Xbox 360 (badly).
