Yes

Edit: The Corsair One is a great pre-built. However, it’s gonna cost more than a custom build to gain profit. This is the case with all pre-builts.

Assuming your talking about this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883304001

No, you could build a better cheaper mini-ITX build like this (I couldn't decide on the cooling but even spending $100 on cooling it would still be cheaper) Edit:Forgot to add the PSU.

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor  ($399.00 @ B&H)
Motherboard: ASRock - Z370M-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($126.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($204.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($139.99 @ B&H)
Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive  ($245.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING Video Card  ($789.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Thermaltake - Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case  ($59.65 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($65.98 @ Newegg)

I'll take that into consideration, but I was referring to the one on the official Corsair site which is $1,799 and has a 1070 and 240 SSD instead.

Ah but that Corsair One is not a mini-ITX so to do a fair build something like this which would cost a little more would get you a lot more performance.

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor  ($399.00 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($57.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI - Z370 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($121.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($204.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($84.99 @ B&H)
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING Video Card  ($789.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT - S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($66.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: Corsair - RMx 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($74.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $1860.90

A little bigger, and the video card wouldn't be cooled. But you'd be saving quite a bit of money.

Honestly though, I wouldn't buy the Corsair One until they've updated it to at least Coffee Lake. It's just not good value right now, unless you really have to have a case that's that much smaller.

Nice build, but to be fair the Corsair unit is considerably smaller. Spending that much I'd also get a better PSU :P

Huh, well I thought it was a mid-tower because when I googled it I saw Corsair One Mid‑Tower Desktop Computer in the buying option on the B&H site and was like well a Mid_Tower is not a mini ITX but now I looked at the actual specs and see that it's a small form factor. Cutting it from a 1080 TI down to a 1080 solves the price gap though and I threw in a form factor Noctua as the CPU fan. There is a 200mm fan on the front of the case, which is why it is a bit bigger, but you'll get better cooling because of that. Edit:Swapped out for a better PSU.

  • 1 month later...

The Corsair One hands down is the best pre-built AIO cooled SFF PC with an available 1080 Ti at 12L or less, BUT the 8700K 1080 Ti starts at $2800 and basically is not up gradable since opening the thing voids your warranty which is one of the main selling points of a pre-built.  Plus even if you could upgrade the One it is saddled with a 500 watt PSU which is fine for the current configuration but limits is future updating.

Personally I almost almost bought a 7th gen i7 w/ GTX 1080 off Ebay for $1800 but I am glad I didn't since I went with a Corsair Bulldog 2.0 barebone and loaded it with a Gigabyte Z370N board, i7 8700K, 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4, 240GB M.2, 1TB 2.5" 7200RPM, EVGA 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid and spent under $1900 to do so w/ a fresh copy of Windows 10 Home.  The Bulldog comes with a H6 SF AIO cooler plus with the unit supporting a 120mm radiator for the graphics card my Bulldog is fully water cooled.  While assembly is required for the Bulldog and you don't get an all in one warranty, it provides a 600 watt PSU and opening and upgrading the PC with its 20L case is so much easier.

You will always will have people who will say you could have built "Y" computer "X" amount less but you simply can't bring back a user built computer back to Best Buy that day for an exchange if it's DOA.  The big negative for me about the One is simply the ability to update it 6 months or 6 years down the line.  If you know you will be fine with a 8700K and 1080 Ti for many years sure go ahead, just know your basically stuck with that.

SFF Time N-ATX V2 - Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WIFI - AMD Ryzen 9 5800X3D - Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4090 - LG C2 OLED 42"
