Buidling today

test everything out of the case before assembly, just put the motherboard on its box and assemble and check you can get into the BIOS

make sure you have the tools you need

ground yourself by touching the tap or something before building

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Agree, the most important part of the build is the pre-test, to make sure the parts work before spending time in the case/chassis building only to discover a faulty part and have to disassemble again.

When you want to assemble everything, look at your case, after you put the motherboard, start with the CPU first, then yeah put everything that might be in your way first before putting the other parts in. Take your time especially the wiring part.

Like @Bananasplit_00 said, test everything outside the case e.g. on top of the motherboard box, before assembling everything just in case something is wrong it's easier to work on.

or, ya know, assemble CPU, cooler and mobo before installing so you dont have to fiddle with the backplate while its in the case

I used to watch this, I know there are some better videos out there, but when I built mine I used this video. Also consult to the motherboard's manual when you're confused. I also watched Austin Evans' tutorial video but he deleted it and he uploaded a new one.

any of the older LTT buildlogs, like the one for devils canyon. the new ones are kinda meh but i guess you can watch those as well
