I'm currently working on setting up a mining rig and I'm running into some problems with getting windows to detect all my gpus. I'm using a Pentium g3258 with a gigabyte h170 d3hp MB and the gpus im trying to get to work are gtx 980, 950, 1060, and  770 and a handful of usb 3.0 risers. The problem I'm having is that when I boot into windows only two gpus are being detected in afterburner and device manager also the only gpus to ever be detected are the gpus in the top two pci slots.

Might be a problem of using USB risers instead of PCIe risers

Could you be using up all your pcie lanes?

IIRC 170 chipsets have 16 direct2cpu pcie lanes which can give 2 cards 8 lanes.  I think nvidia cards require a min of 8 lanes to work.

There are additional lanes provided by the PCH, but I dont know if video cards are meant to work on those.  Maybe PCH pcie slots support only 1x to 4x lanes not the 8x required by nvidia cards.
