Anything I should do while changing ssd from laptop to desktop

vatsan

I had a ssd in my laptop will all laptop drivers updated in windows and all other laptop drivers. Now I need to use the same ssd for my desktop with totally different configurations. Is it fine to install new drivers on top of old or I've to reset windows to stock and do it from 1st?

If I am understanding you correctly you want to use the SSD from your laptop in your desktop?

You can't, windows will most likely give you a Blue Screen of Death.

You will need to install Windows again.

I have done operations like these with 90% sucess rate. It's unlikely a bluescreen will apear. It wont hurt to try

That is my understanding yes. Although someone else mentioned in this thread that you could try and you might not get one.

Personally, I would reinstall windows.

i would do the same, because:

1- there is no better things than a clean install for the OS stability.

2- it is not because nothing happens in front of your eyes, that nothing happens in a deeper level or hardware-side.
