32,000 ft. yes, I am on an aircraft at 32,000 ft typing this message. Just leveled out at cruising altitude. Im on a southwest flight to Denver to do some snow skiing in Breck. Is anyone else doing some vacation this December? Is anyone else on an aircraft right now?

how are the wifi prices on the plane?

 

and hi.

it is $8 for the length of the flight. not bad if the flight is long. the connection speed is about 200-300KB/s. Dish network is offering free ondemand live tv for your devices and when you stream that at the fixed 480p the down speed is about 400-500 KB/s. so there is a restriction on just basic internet browsing so that their live tv would not experience buffering. there was a report recently that the airlines will be upgrading their wifi hardware so they can offer faster speeds. not sure how fast it will be then but I figure it would be a matter of them unrestricting your connection; much like AT&T unrestricted the 3g connection and called it 4G.
