80°C is fine. Are you using auto voltage, and is the pump running?

Remount cooler if it goes to 80C while idle/low load.

My cooler is brand new, the temperature is still going up, not stable at 80 C. The CPU is not overclocked and is running idle. It feels like the cooler isn't working but I can hear the water flowing...

I tried remounting it 3 times now. Nothing's improved.

You sure its tight? Only way you get that high idle temp is that cooler isn't mounted tight. Even with broken pump you should get lower temps, around 60C IIRC.

Try listening for the pump by itself. Check the CPU voltages with a program, or in BIOS. Have you tried new TIM?

:)
