Start button not working

How is it possible that even after reinstalling windows 10, that issue is still there... Bisicly 1/2 of the time I start my start button doesn't work. Taskbar programs open with like a 5 sec delay or don't open at all.
Restarting windows explorer doesn't do anything. Is this an issue with windows itself or is hardware related??? I don't want to reintsall windows for the third time just for this thing. Thanks

Did you check if the connection to the motherboard is solid?

Are you running some slow hard drive that's limiting your system's performance? 

I don't see a reason why a fresh windows install would have these kinds of problems

None of the above. I play games with no issues. Ram, cpu, gpu all good... Might be crazy but it could be a firewall thing. Eitherway I don't see how hardware can cause similar issue.

Then you hanven't seen many Win10 installs!

 

@Jeki155550 try Microsoft Start Menu Troubleshooter, available here (yup, it's common enough that MS made a tool for that!)

 

Also make another user to see if it fixes it.

Usually the problem is graphics card drivers, as the Start menu is fully GPU rendered. Try and install tge the latest drivers, or 1 version behind

how's the cpu usage? ran any diagnostics on the hdd?

I did and there is no issue... I used the tool that paul linked and the issue happened only once since then... Good thing windows loads really fast so when the start button doesn't work I just logout and login in like 5 seconds... So that fixes it without havinf to restart, wich is weird.
