You don't need a CPU upgrade, but getting a 1060 would be a fine choice.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

1060 or you can look at a 780ti which will boast a little better performance with a higher TDP and lower cost secondhand.

Get a graphics card yes. Check your motherboard for connectivity, and check your power supply is decent or that will be the first step for sure.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

A CPU upgrade is unnecessary. Just get a 1060, 580 or a used 980 Ti (If you can find one for a good price) :D

is there a big diffrence between gtx 1060 6gb and gtx 980? cuz 980 it more expinsive

The 980 Ti is faster, but if it's more expensive, just get a 1060 6GB.

Your CPU is fine. Get a GPU.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

not worth upgrading from a 7400 to an i3 8100 since they both have the same core count. an i5 8400 will perform much better but judging from your last question you probably have a weaker GPU so not worth it as you won't see a performance increase. i'd get a 1060 or 580 for performance.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

I have a 6400 and a gtx 1060 myself and id say get the 1060. and if you havent already got 16gb of ram, get 16gb of ram because i was getting really slow frame rates on BF1 and cod ww2 for instance and since i upgraded from 8 tot 16 i got really good results
