My current spec :

---Acer Aspire X3780---

Windows 10 Home

Intel® Core™ i7 processor 6700

Intel® H110 Express

2 TB hard drive

12GB DDR4

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 745 4GB

220 W

I'm planning to replace the GTX 745 with a GTX 1060 6GB , will it work? or do i need to replace other parts too?

Well, a 1060 won't fit, that's for sure.

PSU isn't powerful enough and not standard ATX so replacing is also not possible.

I would check if the motherboard is at least a standard form like micro-atx or mini-itx. If it is you can replace the case and psu and likely be fine at that point. If the motherboard isn't made to a standard, it's quite hopeless unless you want to mod some stuff.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Eh, the graphics card will be too tall to fit in that slim case. You have to cut bits of the bracket of the case off and let the PC lie on its side so the card can get in without ripping the PCIe slot out with its weight. If you dont want these sketchy handcrafts then you will need a low profile 1050ti. A new PSU is necessary since it has a 220w unit.

You will need a new power supply for sure, maybe a corsair cx450m  but it will work with the rest of the system EDIT: don't forget to get a gpu that actually fits in the case

Yeah I thought about that also , thanks for the quick response! :))

I don't know how to check the motherboard , btw thank you man your explanation is very helpful! any recommendation on those parts that I must replace? :)

CX450/550 (with or without M at the back) is the cheapest PSU that's reasonably reliable. You can also check whether the mounting holes on your motherboard matches those sold independently for custom builds (just compare what you can see with pictures found online).  Might want to add an SSD in there to speed up boot time as well.

The only way is to measure the mounting holes of the motherboard.

http://formfactors.org/developer/specs/atx2_1.pdf

Page 10 contains the measurements. If they match with the holes of your motherboard you should be able to put the motherboard in a different case.

if they don't match up, you ran out of luck basically. You can either leave it, go ghetto with the current case and somehow make it work or get a case and drill extra holes so the motherboard does end up fitting, somehow.

@samcool55 what about this ? Which one should I get?

MSI Z270 or Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2 DDR4?

The cheapest one. It doesn't really matter what you get actually, it just needs to work properly :P
