Just the speakers. The receiver is completely dead

Ah okay gotcha - well I would expect that the only way to connect them to your PC would be to get a working receiver/amplifier. Or just ditch some of the speakers and use them as a 2.1 set up - there are way more options for stereo amplifier/receivers that would work in a desk set up rather than 5.1.

So I got an old 5.1 home theatre that was not working from my uncle and is unrepairable and was wondering how to hook up the speakers to my PC. The speakers are tested and are working. I'm just looking for a good upgrade from my cheap dell speakers that i got on sale. Thanks for the help and sorry if I ask terrible questions

So you have a 5.1 system that currently works and you are wondering how to hook them up to your PC? Is it just the speakers or do you have a receiver as well?

Thanks for the answer and the help. I'll see if I could find a receiver only at a local electronic repair shop
