upgrade worth it?

I have h110m k and 7700t for less than one month and I was offered a trade where I top up 200 dollar to upgrade to 8600k and z370.

I only play ark and gta5 at the moment, is the upgrade worth it?

Or is it better to save the money for icelake?

My next upgrade will be two years later which is year 2020

Mostly ark survival evolved.

My gpu is gtx1080 and I am playing at 1080p.

I wouldn't unless you feel like you really need the extra performance. Yeah it will be faster, but are you feeling limited on the 7700t? It's still a 4c/8t CPU with an all core turbo somewhere around 3.5ghz I assume. If you are, then go for it. Otherwise I'd just wait. If I had that CPU, in terms of upgrading for me it'd be the 8700k or bust. Nothing else would be worth the trouble. However if you're not satisfied with your current performance, then the 8600k should be a good 35-40% faster after a solid 4.7ghz OC.

Def not worth it. Your downgrading your cpu class from i7 to i5. 8 thread vs 6 thread.

Worth it if you are 3 generations behind.

 

For $200 i would buy better gpu if your purpose to play games.

gaming performance the 8600k and 7700k is really similar at the same clocks.
