Problem with my Schiit

Hi everyone

I think i need some expert help with my schiit. Like every 2 or 3 months, my modi 2 (DAC) stop being recognize by windows 10, normaly it takes a couple day and its back but this time its hopeless. I've tried everything schiit recommend and nothing work. The powered usb hub detect it but windows tell me there's a driver problem and when i try to install the schiit driver it tell me to connect the USBMEDIA 2.0. The regedit.exe option with the "EnhancedPowerManagementEndabled" is not even there in Device parameters and i've disabled all port power management. I also tried every usb port on my pc (10 of them) and 3 different usb cable. The device work perfectly on a non Dell pc with windows 10.

My PC is a Dell ... i know it can be a part of the problem with Dell audio and realtek audio but even when i end the task in task manager it does not change a thing. The only thing i have not tried is through bios since i'm not really comfortable with that option without a clear guide.

can someone help ?

I recommend more fiber, less carbohydrates, and better fats. Some exercise after eating will help as well.

Begin eating mild foods the next day or sooner, depending on how you feel.
  1. Avoid spicy foods, fruits, alcohol, and caffeine until 48 hours after all symptoms have disappeared.
  2. Avoid chewing gum that contains sorbitol.
  3. Avoid milk for 3 days after symptoms disappear. You can eat cheese or yogurt with probiotics.

LOL at all the schit jokes anyway it is the driver that isn't fully made for Win10, is this the one that has the stack of other DACs that you can connect all together ?

Saw a Twitcher who had to get some special driver for a single one to work over USB but never said where he got it from, he also said that the toslink fixes the issue too so he just went with a toslink 1in to 4 out adapter to all his other equipment.

So i need to buy another DAC with optical connection ?

That is what he found out and it seems schit may not have known, or maybe they did IDK. He discussed it with more detail on his twitch stream but he didn't record that stream. Once i am home on Sunday i will ask him to find out when he streams and post back here. this is his twitch channel, he streams on a Sunday and Wednesday so if you are not doing anything tomorrow pop in and ask him and he will answer.

Just add his twitch channel and you will get a notification when he is going to stream, as i said he streams Wednesdays and Sundays, he has a friend reading the questions and he answers them on the spot if he can.

Hope you get through.
