S7 Protection & Usability Upgrade

I've been using the Tek21 EVO case & a tempered glass partial screen protector on my Galaxy S7 for over a year now & I've finally got the money to improve my experience. Although both have worked, the case feels "like a wet bar of soap" & the halo effect on my screen protector is growing increasingly annoying. The lack of grip is my primary gripe but I can't change that until I've decided on another screen protector or not. I know my phone has Gorilla Glass 4 which according to all the marketing by Corning, is superior in every way to any screen protector. Although I've watched & read countless reviews on all the below choices, I'd still like to hear this communities opinions em. amFilm S7 Tempered Glass Screen Protector, Supershieldz S7 Tempered Glass Screen Protector, Griffin Survivor, Spigen Tough Armor, Otterbox Defender & Pelican Voyager.

1: Besides scratch resistance, how much better or worse would my Gorilla Glass 4 alone protect against a sharp impact VS a Tempered Glass Screen protector on top of it?

2: I'm looking for a grippy case that'll also be fairly easy to remove from my pant pockets, if you've had any experience with any of the above cases at all, how do they feel?

3: If I get another Tempered Glass Screen Protector but a full one this time, do y'all have any idea which cases it'll work with?

P.S: I've already tried all local stores, no one has anything anymore for my phone, it's all for the S8 now, so no way I can try anything out.

I've had an Otterbox Defender on my S7 since new and have no complaints with it.  I've never used the other ones you mention, so I can't say how they compare.

Thanks, I've heard rumors that the 1st releases of Otterbox's defender had issues with letting dirt & dust in between its included plastic screen protector & the phone itself. Although I'd be using a tempered glass one, still wasn't sure if there'd be any fitment problems.

I have had that happen, and I remove the phone from the case about once a month to clean it.  The dirt hasn't scratched the screen at all though, so it's not an issue for me.

I'll keep that in mind, I did hear that Otterbox "fixed the defender" in some video comments in the past. I can't remember if it was in regard to this issue or another phone entirely. 1 thing I do need to consider is whatever said company claims, sure Otterbox has a great reputation but no where have I seen a specific drop rating on their case. While other, cheaper alternatives like Griffin clearly state the maximum tested.

I've dropped my S7 onto a hard laminate floor from about 3.5 feet without any sort of damage.  I don't know how that compares to other cases though.  Maybe that's not even a very impressive drop test.

That's about the worst drop mines sustained too in it's Tek21 EVO. The widely used 6ft+ drop test though is what I'd be looking for in a new case. Will check Otterboxes site again but if nothing I'll probably go with one of the cheaper cases. Baffles me as to why the Pelican option is 40 bucks still.
