Yeah, I was looking at mining, and considering that difficulty goes up 10% every 2 days, you might mine 10 LTC with 2x 280X before it becomes unprofitable. so unless prices of LTC jump to over 100 $... I have to agree with @Tmh85

Are you rich or something...!?

Its not like I'm really spending money its more like an investment similar to stocks, you don't have to be rich to buy $5000 worth of stocks

Or just regularly back it up to Google Drive or Dropbox. I think you can encrypt it, so it's safe.

EDIT: you don't need a 1500 W gold PSU for 2 7950s?? Any 750 W bronze will do IMO.

Fastcoins or Litecoins. Fastcoins are very stable. Go to coinwarz.com and figure out what GPUs you are using and find the hash rate of those. Go to the mining calculator at the top and go to Fastcoin Mining Calculator or Litecoin Mining Calculator. Plug in hash rate, PSU wattage, and electricity cost and you will get the profit for hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.

If you're looking to invest in Crypto-Currencies you are making a choice and a gamble to try and make your money go further.

Buying coins directly, allows you to get a set amount at a set time. A single lump sum at current prices. (you can space out your investment over time too).

Buying hardware to mine, is a gamble against the price and difficulty staying the same, or going down. You're hoping that you will earn more coins by mining than you could have bought on day one before it becomes no longer profitable to mine. You get a slow stream of coins coming in.

I'd suggest doing both, if you're interested in Crypto-Currencies and not looking for a "get rich quick" scheme then split your investment between mining hardware and buying coins directly.

When you buy Bitcoins as "stocks" there is one big difference, you can spend them freely anytime. Instead of looking for a method of cashing out, spend them as the currency they are.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.
