Mac troubleshooting

Go to solution Solved by lieder1987,

You could trying booting it up with only one ram chip, but other than that, sounds like you need new ram at the least.

so my grandpa had an old mac and gave it to us and my mom took it to her preschool to use but its not working now. im kind of the computer person of the family so she brought it to me

i looked it up and it beeps once every couple of seconds for a bit which i found means missing ram, then goes to a white screen with a folder with a ? which i think means that it cant find os files or something. i opened up the ram slots and there is indeed ram there and i tried changing the slots ect but it still doesnt work

i thought this would be the right section to find some ideas to fix it

ill post pics when i get home

is it running the latest os?

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.
