Rainbow six siege

xDylanio

Hello so I'm debating getting rainbow six siege because my friends on the ps4 side have it. I don't know much about this game but I know  I got a free copy of it back in 2015 with my gpu. Never played it at all and would like to hear opinions on it. It kinda reminds me of black ops and csgo, but I was never an expert on shooter games

It plays very well. You should definitely use a mic for this one as communication and timing of assaults is important as it's "first to three rounds wins" and you only have one life. Learn to use all of the weapons and operators (only one person can choose an operator; if you choose Tachanka, no one else can play as him for the round) as best you can.

How rough is the community towards new players, I remember the first time I started playing csgo I tried to kill someone far away with a shotgun and the people started screaming and insulting, anyways how would you say it is?

Definitely not as bad as that. The most you'll have is someone trying to blame others needlessly. The community, on PC at least, tends to be 16+. Most of the veteran or ranked players are less likely to blame and more likely to give advice or come up with strategies for the next round.

i love siege. If you are looking for some people to play with, PM me. We don't play often, we are all pretty busy, but we are all nice guys and a few of our players are also very new. I love the game, it is the only FPS i play these days.

Some people are toxic, some people aren't. The game is really intense at higher levels and it can be extremely frustrating. It's an odd mix. My best advice is to find a group of people you like to play with, and play mostly in a 5 stack. People will invite you into discords pretty regularly if you are nice, and you can build a group from there. I only play alone if I am play 2 games or less.

Unfortunately PC isn't in option for right now, but hopefully it's more forgiving towards the new players. Do you guys have any recommendations on tutorials or youtubers to watch so I can learn the basics, and actually be some what decent at the game?

Play through the main operations. That should teach you most of the basics as well as showing you some of the operators and how useful they are (Ashe is good for fast, long-distance breaches; IQ can see electronics through walls enabling her to mark them or shoot them out of use).

Weapon choices matter very little aside from your play-style, but equipment selection is very important depending on your role for the offense or defense; you might want to consider wire if you're protecting a bomb or plant cameras if you're supposed to defend a room since hunting is more important in this scenario.

Learning to use the camera drones is important since it keeps you out of the line of imminent fire if your teammates are around you, but let's you spot enemies for those same teammates.

Try buying two operators for defense and offense and using them until you know their strengths and weaknesses. Mastering one operator for each side is better than being a jack-of-all-trades. Check corners by cutting the pie (look to the left while you move right; take advantage of leaning if console allows it) and be sure to use your drone to check kill-boxes or death-alleys before entry; if they shoot your drone, just walk away.
