Samsung Galaxy S4 i545 Custom Recovery?

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i545. I want to install a custom recovery to get a newer version of android on it, but I can't find a guide that works for my phone to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery. Is there a way to do that? Or is the bootloader locked down and I should just throw it away?

I have looked through their website, there's no proper documentation on how to unlock the bootloader, only for other models. Remember, I have a i545.
