Lighting my room with my computer.

<CODE BLUE>

So as many of you know, aura sync compatible LED strips are pretty expensive, even for a small length. I got bored and decided I wanted to control a 7 meter LED strip around my rooms ceiling with aura, and after closer inspection it turns out most standard RGB LED strips are compatible with aura, its just some strips may need to have there pins switch so that there in the correct order. With this knowledge, I wired them up to my motherboard and wrote some code using the aura SDK. My code took control of all the lighting in my system (except DRAM because this is not actually allowed to be access via the SDK yet), worked out the average color of the screen and then updated the lights to that color. Of course there is some other things going on like smoothing and such to get it to look better, but here it is on a very flash youtube video.

I'm not sure how to embed on here so here is the link https://void.cat/73e5612d8716d34209c2f86e9962f6ac160f2f0a

If this is in the wrong section then if a mod could move my thread that would be great!

I also want to point out, this entire project (in terms of cost of external lighting and wiring) cost about $40

This is blocked by my antivirus...

Really? I had to upload it here because of copyrighted music, so it could not go on youtube. Not sure why its blocked though, mine does not block it.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I'd be happy to release it, how ever currently its not very user friendly as its a console app. How ever if you give me some time to polish it all up then I will :)

You should totally make a guide on how to do this, I personally am very interested, as I would assume are many others.

I'd be terrible at making guides, how ever i'm sure linus could do a good job ;)
