My friend bought an old computer with a Core 2 Duo processor at a very cheap price. It runs at 100% load just by browsing the web. I want to know should anyone buy this thing in 2017 or 2018. ( which is the best cheapest processor to buy? ).

Not really worth it, the q6600 and up may be kinda worth it since they're $20 but even then motherboards for LGA 755 are hard to find unless they're dell oem boards

No you should not buy any core2 computer anymore they are basically worthless. Even free isn't worth it My work has like 10 of them they would be happy to give me for free.  IMO the lowest processor your should go for is the first generation i5-i7s even then I would try to go for a second or third generation even those we are talking about almost an 8 year old computer.
