I have a voucher for Currys PCWorld in the UK and I'm thinking of buying a modular power supply. I have also got a 10% staff discount

I'm going to be running a Ryzen 5 1600 and for now a GTX 960 but that'll probably be replaced with a GTX 1160 when it comes out.

It's between these 2 because of the price. Are they decent or should I spend my voucher on something else?

I would rather have it modular cause I'm getting a windowed case and I hate how messy the case I have now is with all these cables I don't use

It's an OK PSU. Can you find EVGA, Corsair, or Seasonic units where you live?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

They are available in the UK but I'm limited to whats available at PC World cause of the voucher. I also don't really want to spend much more than £60

Ah, well in that case you're probably fine with a G550M then.

Given the choice, if there's nothing wrong with your current PSU I wouldn't spend money on upgrading. Yeah GM is a decent unit but you won't be putting a huge load on your EVGA either. If it ain't broke don't fix it :/

Those ones are perfectly fine, nothing wrong with it.

Though a bit older (2 years or so) but still good PSU.

Get the CX. Just make sure its the grey version not the older green one. Its better than the Cooler Master GM series.

Why?

The G-Series is pretty good and CWT as well..

My main thing is the mess. I hate it and have to keep cleaning the loose cables every time I open my PC. It can get pretty dusty cause my PC is in my room. I also have cats.
