300 dollar pc

I am a newb to pc building and do not have a budget of a high level. I was wondering if the ltt community had any suggestions to a $300 pc build (new parts only) that could play games. (games, any setting, any resolution above 720)

Why does it have to be new? You can get much better parts by going used. 

 

Also, what parts do you currently have, do you need a monitor/speakers/keyboard/mouse/Windows, and where do you live?

If you are going that cheap, buy used. You won't get much new.

 

If you want new, save up another hundo.

300 is a tight budget.  If you already have a monitor, and can borrow a CD key for windows from a friend, I created a parts picker sheet for you.

The A10 chip with R7 graphics should handle most games at 720p medium / high settings, and 8gb of ram will do you alright.  Plenty of upgrade paths later on as well, if you come up with extra funds.  That's a Ryzen Capable board!

 

If I only had ~300 bucks, demanded brand new parts, and needed a machine to play a few games, that's the build I'd do.

 

Personally, if it were me, I'd buy used off of Craigslist, as you can find some capable gaming rigs at fire sale prices from time to time.

At that point you may as well get a case that includes a PSU and save some money since it's going to be trash either way. I've been doing a bit of digging and HD 630 in the G4600 appears to be similar to the R7 in the 9700, although there really is a pitiful amount of data available between the two. And since the 9700 is excavator based, the cpu performance is far better with the G4600.

Good point.  Updated, and saved 30 bucks.
