Swapping GPU coolers

WarDance

So our Walmart had left over black Friday PC's specs as follows, i5 7400, gtx1060 3gb, 8gb ddr4, a janky MB with only 2 slots for ram, a single pci-e, 1tb hhd and a 300 psu.... We got PC forjust under $400 after taxes, so good deal since the GPU/CPU are like $180 each. And it's a nice step up for my gf from her a8-7600 system. We replaced the psu with her old430w one. But the 1060 has the jankiest cooler, I'll have a pic included. Which I'm worried about overheating since she plans to stream some, plus the case has garbage airflow. We have a spare gtx 950 and rx 460... Would either of those coolers line up with the processor/vram . I'm hoping someone might have some insight before I dismantle and check myself.

Thanks for your time,

Chris

you could measure the back holes (where the cooler is screwed) to have a better idea if it will work or not

well its not a good cooler, no overclocking for you, but i doubt it will overheat. you could probably swap on something like this:

if it will go into the case that is

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

there's barely any clearance left between the gpu and psu, (maybe an inch) the fan in the gpu faces up and blows right into the top mounted psu... a case as been on the to-do list for awhile. I think i might have an old metal case from the early 2000s, might have to pull it out of storage xD

yah id probably swap the case, just use that old case or get something like the Masterbox 3.1
