Hi guys can anyone help me pls i just got 2 more ram sticks i previously had 2 times 4gb now i want to add 2 more but the issue is that when i insert the ram my pc wont boot i tried with second pair alone and it works so ram is ok also tried second dual channel slots also working they only dont work when all sticks are inside

Are they the same type of ram?.... There are sometime compatiability issues with seperate kits of ram

From the sounds of it, looks like your ram is not compatible with each other.  Are your ram sticks of different speeds, different settings such as 10-12-12-12-16 and 14-16-16-16-18?  Something like that possibly?

What version of Windows are you running? 32-bit, or 64-bit? If it's 32-bit it will only recognize a maximum of 4gb of RAM. If this is not the issue, please include more information about your hardware. What motherboard, etc. would be very helpful.

- Motherboard

- CPU

- Memory already installed: brand ect

- Memory you want to put in

 

@MadModder it wont boot, so windows wont even factor into this

ok people thanks for quick response so im really confused now because i got it to work but not sure how i just went into bios and turned off xmp for dram my mb is msi h270 gaming m3 and ram is corsair vengeance 2400 cr14

and yes the sticks are completely identical to my previous ones

hmm ok so now i see they are running on 2133 and they are 2400 sticks actually so what to do to make them 2400 cos if i turn xmp back on it will not work again , could the voltage be the issue because voltage with xmp was at 1.216

ok i did it i turned xmp back on and increased voltage from 1.200 to 1.300 and it works now i hope thats not too much voltage

I encountered similar problem as yours before. My solution was booting with 1 stick first, then subsequently add another when it booted until all 4 were installed.
