Old data new use

I have an old Xbox 360 Fat hard drive that i took the 2.5 inch HDD out of, and now i want the data off of it. I dont know what file format it is in; Windows doesnt recognize it. What should i do? I plan to clear it off and put on a Linux Distri for fun

you probably gonna need another xbox to do the transfer to. or just move all files to another drive using the console

pretty sure xbox encrypts data because they don't like people playing with it... probably a tool or something that you can use to get to the data, may your googling power serve you well

If you don't want to save the data then just format the drive. 

if you want to save it then yeah you'll need to reinstall it into a 360.
