so im going to be building my own pc next year when volta/ampere comes out (please dont start debating about whether i should just get pascal) and im not sure if i should get a new headset first since my old razer kraken is wearing out which i bought for 70 dollars, also a cheap pair of 15 dollar sony earphones beats the razer in terms of sound quality (goes to say how shit and overpriced razer actually is). but on the other end im also thinking if i should upgrade my mouse so i dont have to factor in the price of buying a mouse later when i build my pc but im not sure if upgrading a mice really gives a significant improvement so im not sure either... help me decide pls

P.S. the mouse is the logitech g403 wired/wireless and the headphones are the audio technica m40x

By the time you'll be waiting for Ampere you can get both :P It is only really coming in 2019.

Either ways out of personal preference and experience I do put a great mice before other things, I still remember the day I installed my Corsair M65 PRO for the first time, my gaming experience specially in competitive first person shooters improved drastically it was such a great experience I felt an idiot myself for taking so long to afford a decent mice.

interesting... what mice were u using before upgrading?

also, ampere in 2019? are you sure they wont refresh before? since there will be a 3 year gap this time with pascal and it probably wont hold up as well.

Sadly we're really going to see this larger gap this time, AMD has been moving too slow to compete... so much nVidia still has the best offering on each tier.

So nVidia is focusing on other products as for right now, like going deeper on their AI research and focusing on enterprise solutions with Volta new Tensor cores that are better than CUDA for specific computing workloads.

Regardless of that I was using those generic cheapo gaming mices, always thought it didn't matter as much but boy! I was wrong, logitech stuff is good and a lot of people speak good stuff about it but I recommend the Corsair M65 Pro with blind faith.

i did take a look at the m65 but that mouse is just too heavy and wide for my taste, guess thats a trade off for the aluminium contruction. And im really tired and sick of cables so i wanted a wireless solution.

Just keep in mind that wireless might not provide the best gaming experience on competitive stuff like PUBG and CS:GO though aside from that I don't see why not go for it hehe

cheers!

I'd go with whichever is more expensive so you can buy it now and not have to worry about the price later when you're building your pc since it seems like you're going to upgrade both at sometime in the future anyways

Work Desktop: Dell Precision 5810 | Intel Xeon E5-1607 v4 | 8GB 2400 MHz ECC DDR4 | AMD FirePro w5100 4GB GDDR5

Laptop: MacBook Pro 15" | Intel i7-4870HQ | 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 | Nividia GeForce GT 750M 2GB GDDR5
