Does my build suck?

So, right now i have an awful laptop from 2007 for gaming, and I'm working on building myself a fairly budget PC for gaming, and maybe a little streaming. I've never built a pc before, so I'd love to hear some feedback on this build, and figure out some changes to make the system better.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($189.99 @ Amazon) - This cpu needs no introduction.
Motherboard: Asus - PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($59.99 @ Newegg) - one of the cheapest motherboards at the time that was full ATX.
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory  ($74.99 @ Newegg) - Cheap.
Storage: SanDisk - SSD PLUS 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($137.99 @ Amazon) - Boot SSD, and maybe for storing some games that i play frequently.
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($41.77 @ OutletPC) - Mass storage.
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB Dual Video Card  ($279.99 @ SuperBiiz) - Yes, i chose this one, because I'm going for a white build.
Case: NZXT - S340 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($64.99 @ SuperBiiz) - Aesthetics.
Power Supply: Corsair - Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($49.99 @ Amazon) - Fairly cheep, and allows for upgrades in the future.
Monitor: Asus - VS228T-P 21.5" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor  ($99.00 @ Amazon) - I don't need anything higher quality than this for now.
Keyboard: G.Skill - Ripjaws KM570 RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($99.99 @ Newegg) - I wanted a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches.
Mouse: Corsair - M65 PRO RGB FPS Wired Optical Mouse  ($49.96 @ Amazon) - RGB.
Other: Cloud9 Chair Maxnomic ($399.00) - I just want this. There's no good justification for it.
Total: $1547.65

Thank you.

Had a custom pc, but I traded it for a Razer Blade 15 with a RTX 2070

I'd check if you can get a slightly cheaper mechanical keyboard. Other than that, looks good. I'd recommend going for higher speed memory if you can as well

Frostbite (White build PC)

Spoiler

MSI B350M Mortar Arctic - Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 GHz - Corsair H60 - ASUS GTX 1060 3GB DUAL OC @ (2130 MHz Core Clock + 4600 MHz Mem Clock)

2x8GB 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance C16 Corsair 400C White - EVGA 650 GQ

Razer Deathadder Chroma - Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition Chroma - Sennheiser HD 598 SR - LG 24MP59G-P

I'll upgrade the monitor later, of course, but that's just what i'm doing for now.

I think there's 2800 MHz 1x8GB RAM available for $75. The difference in frequency will matter much more than single Vs dual channel. It will also make upgrades easier. It's red, though.

The SSD Plus is a pretty bad SSD. The MX300 is available for less, and you get 45GB more storage.

If you're on a low budget for a monitor, an AMD card would allow you to get a Freesync monitor.

The CX600 is pretty bad. The CX550 should be available for $25.

Get a Freesync monitor. And ≥24", if you can.

The M65 is a terrible mouse. Depending on what games you play, the G203 or G502 would be better.

:)

I'd concur with @katoptrys about the keyboard; in that price range you could get some of the more widely regarded brands, or go cheaper for a similar experience.

I'm curious about your memory choice though. 8GB isn't a lot nowadays, especially with a 6GB gpu. Would you be able to stretch to 2x8GB? 2x4GB seems reasonable enough with 4 dim slots, but that would limit you in future to replacing your 4GB modules (if you wanna upgrade past 16 and have matched sticks) or going 4x4 which puts extra pressure on the imc and could limit you if you choose to overclock.

For what it's worth, I'm currently using 7.4GB with 32GB installed with only a few tabs in my web browser and steam open. Obviously this is more than you'd see in practice with 8GB installed and running the same programs, but it's still something to think about for a new build.

Thank you.

I'd slash my budget for the chair, put another 100-150 for a better 1080p monitor!

I removed the chair, because that's not something that i'm getting right now, that's gonna be in the future. And the monitor is staying, because i will upgrade that do something with a higher refresh rate and G-sync later.

Freesync requires an AMD gpu, (right?), and i'm not sure AMD has a better gpu at that price.
