So my storage HDD crashed and it's time for a new one. I looked at companies like Seagate and wd but then I came across something interesting. The Toshiba x300 series. I haven't purchased one yet but why can I not find anything about these. I was looking at getting the 4tb one for storage of all my games.

It's got issues. BIOS doesn't always detect it (nor does Windows), the warranty is garbage, there's a high failure rate inside of 6 months. If the price is right, sure, but bear in mind that OEMs put warranties on their product to cover what they expect its normal lifespan to be. A two-year warranty on a HDD scares me.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Um... 250+ people are using them? There are lots of user reviews on Amazon, so I'm not quite sure what you're meaning...

Well, I don't use it because I rarely click on MSN clickbait titles.....

Otherwise, Toshiba is absolute garbage. I wouldn't trust any of my data on Toshiba. Also, I thought Toshiba filed for bankruptcy, so that probably doesn't bode well. They own(ed) Westinghouse, which is shit. I'd rather watch TV on... Smoke signals I guess... Cannot really think of a metaphor or anything here...

But Toshiba sucks. They warranty sucks. Even on their laptops and such, they will not support anything past the 1st year manufacturer warranty, that's why a lot of big companies that have tech support (such as Best Buy) don't sell them. Because Toshiba refuses to be responsible for part manufacturing and replacement past that time. So I don't trust them for anything.

You can buy whatever you want, but I wouldn't stick that Toshiba into any of  my USB or SATA ports...
