Hybrid will be faster than a normal HDD. In your case, I would go for a hybrid drive.

I never understood the point of Hybrid drives. For a 2.5" drive, it's most likely going to be the main drive for a laptop. An 8GB SSD acting as cache only gets you so far and after that, you're again held back by those 5400RPM platters. Which generally means you're going to be having an inconsistent overall system experience with some things loading quickly, while others slow as molasses. And to me, that's worse than having the entire system run slowly. It's infuriating when a system is completely unpredictable. At least with a pure HDD design, your expectations remain low. I feel that many of these hybrid drive manufacturers are giving just hope to users that want an SSD like experience with HDD like storage space; but they will never be able to fully deliver.
